Newbie question
 

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and I would like to said all the professional in this forum. Now with the question, I always been a racer in the super pro and super comp classes but I would like to do something new. I want to build a stock eliminator car. I know that this class is very competitive and I know I will like that challenge. I have a 2004 ford mustang mach-1 that I will like to convert in a stock car. Do you guys think that will be a good car for stock eliminator? I know this car has a lot of potential right now is in the high 11 with just bolt ons and boy that engine can rev. Did somebody know if this will be a good candidate for that? Thanks in advance for your help guys I know you guys are the professors in this class.....

First you would have to claim it as a 2003 as their are NO Fords on the guide in 2004...that being said no big deal (well maybe you'll need to look @ the blueprints to see if all the #'s match to what you have) the car would be a natural "E" car add weight to "F" the F index is 12.15 the E index is 12.00. Soo you do the math. I'd say if it runs high 11 now with no work to the engine you have a good combo?

can you further explain your bolt on's? i've never heard of a mustang going anywhere near this fast with the 4.6 motor and bolt on's... Heck we had one that had the 5.0 stroker kit a lil work done to the heads and a D1 procharger on it only go 11.99. granted we are at 3000' so that would be close to 11.50 or a lil faster at sea level and it was in full street trim so it was a tank. but that's where it sounded like yours was at too so that is pretty impressive to me. just curious.

Hello,

You will be surprise, this engine can rev. I have done nothing to the engine except for headers, pulleys, CAI. Everything is on suspension and gears and a little weight removed. You can build a big engine with a lot of horsepower but if you don't put all that to the ground you are doing nothing. You can check there is a couple of articles that have a stock mach-1 running low 13s in the quarter. But thanks for the input.
