Re: Olds rocker ?
I broke 1 @ Columbus Div race... I went & found an Alum. 1 from Judi Bureski's husband & we (dad & i ) drilled it out in the trailer... All the others I have are the steel ones & rockauto.com has them for $5.40 a pair so I got 3 pair just 2 be safe. I don't like having the steel ones on all cyl but one...mine is set up as adjustable with 3/8 studs & sb chevy push rods... I guess spinning one of these 307 6800 in the traps is a bit much?

Greg
I had to use a reamer to take mine out to 3/8.Just use lots of coolant when reaming them out. |
Re: Olds rocker ?
Greg,
Set them up in a vertical mill and use a carbide end mill. The end mill is a bit expensive. But it will tear thru those rockers like they are butter. :) Chris |
Re: Olds rocker ?
Would an American Motors rocker arm bridge work here? I had one apart once( a 304 powered Jeep) and they looked real close. I don't remember the brand name part we used on the engine rebuild for the Jeep, or whether it was aluminum or hard steel.

Re: Olds rocker ?
Olds and AMC pivets will interchange. ......I use an end mill to take them out to .375"
[and LOTS of coolant]. ......Tom |
