slicks ???

Notice lotsa cars especially the lower HP stockers are using either Hoosier or MT instead of Gyear---doesn;t Gyear make a comparable tire or are the Hoosier/ MT just that much better peformance wise---also what are most cars running size wise and Bias or Radial??? --- looking at a tire for say a K L or M Automatic car--thanx Comp 387

We run the soft Hoosier radial on the AA car. It is stone consistent, they last a long time, and we have no trouble hooking.

Yes. The Hoosier radial, soft compound. I think the roll out is 96.4". I'd bet on a lower HP car, you could go to the next harder compound, and they'd last forever. We keep cutting the burnout time down and they keep hooking.

On the G/S car, we had the medium compound bias tire, the things seemed to last forever. I bet the guy who bought it is still running them.

the Hoosiers are a gum ball! the M/T are faster BUT the Hoosiers are way more consistant! also the Hoosiers will get you down a "not so good" track ;)

Been running HOOSIER since 91 and are very pleased . On a stocker and a top dragster/quick rod. Last a long time and repeat consistency. Lots of W's with HOOSIER.

I run L,M, and N /sa , I have tried both M/T and Good Year and always go back to Hoosiers.... As everyone else has said, they are dead-on consist and I think they are faster & last much longer .... I run the 92.5 dia..C07 compound... I have a heavy car at 3800 # ... The other key factor is gear ratio ? Good Luck , go with the proven Winner......

Re: slicks ???

the quickest times I have ever run was on a set of Hoosiers that had the threads showing thru. Good to the last hammer drop!!!!!!

Goodyear came out last month with a new series of 9.0 Radials wow much more consistant and forgiving my kid has picked up a Div. win and runner up since putting them on!! Neither of our cars have ever spun with them!! Only problem is my car wants to wheely higher and scared the heck out of me at Autolite,

I think 95" circumference is the legal max for a Stocker. The most popular Hoosier 9" Stocker slicks seem to be 92.5" and 94.0". But they do have some shorter versions. I've been very happy with my lightweight radials.
