Freeze treating pininon gear?

I've broke a couple of pinion gears on my FWD cars. They shear on the shaft, the gear end is fine, no damage to the ring gear.
Someone suggested Cryo teating the pinion. Will this help? The pinion breaks in the middle of the shaft away from any maching.
Is there any other treatment, that will work better?

Cyro helps a lot of things, but I dont think it will help your problem. The pinion shaft is probally necked down where its breaking?? I would think the shaft is either too small in diameter or the it has a soft core hardness .First it twists then it shears.I would try to see if any way possible to get a 9310 set..

Not going to find a 9310 for this application! I would cryo it. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain.
