Stocker Flat Tappet Oil....

What oil are you guys using for "dial-in" every day racing? I want to make sure to protect the camshaft from premature wear and any recommendations are appreciated. I've heard some oils dont pump the lifters up very well. Has anyone found this to be true?

Thanks for the info.....

What your looking for is oil with the highest zinc content, Valvoline and Joe Gibbs are two I am sure there are more.

My brother-In-Law uses this on every motor he builds. He has been seeing alot of bearing problems due to lack of Zinc as well.

Amsoil has several high zinc content oils. These are the ones I'm sure of:

Shell Rotella T seems to work well for me in all engines, and very cost effective too

the oil is not the cure its the additive package in it 80% of a quart of oil is mineral oil the other 20% is additives thats what makes or breaks the oil i and at least 20 other guys at my ome track have been using moa by bg for years and it works awesome

and it cost around 6.00

Rotella T and Delo 400 diesel oil work good as long as you can find some of the older stuff, I here the new diesel oil is going lower on the zinc also. I do know that Brad Penn racing oil works good, a friend of mine runs it in his stocker with alot of spring pressure and has had zero problems with his cam. We broke the cam in with Brad Penn and the GM EOS. But I'm sure there are plenty of other good racing oils to use. Shawn

Wade, use Valvoline Part# VV-850 it is 10w30 weight oil and it has good Zinc in it, I use it all the time for break-in and when I switch to (go fast oil) I dont really pick up that much, great oil.Make sure it is Part # VV-850. Most NAPA stores have it.
