Adjustment for Turbo Action shifter?
I removed the B&M shifter that came in my duster with a used Turbo Action shifter.
I put the trans in park, then removed the cable. Put the Turbo Action shifter in, ran the cable and hooked it up to the same bracket that was on the trans. Was this a mistake? the shift pattern is PRN321 with a manul valve body. It will shift into PRN3, but not 2 or 1. Am I missing a bracket. The cable that bolts to the trans ear and holds the cable in place came with the shifter. I can call Turbo Action tech line tomorrow, the only bracket that came with the T/A shifter looks the same as the kick down lever that was wired to the rear and not used. Opinions and advice??? |
Re: Adjustment for Turbo Action shifter?
you have to use the shift lever for the turbo-action shifter the old one you have will not work

Re: Adjustment for Turbo Action shifter?
I agree. I had the exact same situation with my SS Demon, except I had a 727 not a 904. Also make sure you have the shifter for the reverse valve body. Jim

Re: Adjustment for Turbo Action shifter?
The Turbo Action shifter is one of the easiest to adjust, as long as you use their shifter arm on the trans. To set the adjustment you must put the shifter in neutral, put the tranny linkage in neutral; line the two up and you should be good to go.

Re: Adjustment for Turbo Action shifter?
Thanks for all the input. I called and talked with Paul @ Turbo Action
today and he set me straight on what I need to change and how to adjust the linkage. |
