Disc brake pads...
Looking for recommendations for the best pads (brand and part#) for front, Aerospace/Wilwood type, "drag race" disc brakes.......
3500 lb car (GM "A" body), in the 10.50 ET @ 126 MPH range. TIA |

try contacting hawk brakes they make pads for most of the aftermarket companies. they have many different compounds to suit your needs.

I did just that, but all the different compounds confuse me. Thought I could find someone on here that has already done the R&D for me.... |

Hawk Brake's DR 97 pads are specifically for drag race cars, their Black (medium torque) pads are for moderate drag applications. Wilwood's Polymatrix "B" or Polymatrix "E" pads are best for drag race. You will need to specify which series of caliper (Dynalite, Superlite?) you have.

I use the polymatrix e pads on my 3300 lb 10.70 A body.Good pads,stop well and will hold the car up to 2400-2500 rpm on the footbrake.

Go to the Hawk website. They give some really good info on how to seat the new pads. I just instaled disc brakes on my car and they came with that pad.
