69 Camaro Cowl Induction
Can anyone provide any feedback/results in regards to testing a factory cowl induction hood on a 69 Camaro?
1. Are any of you only pulling air just from the windshield? Meaning are you running the cowl induction air cleaner sealed to the hood preventing hot air from the engine compartment? If so, are you using the filter? 2. Have any of you tried not running anything at all on top of the carb? Does this create a turbulence problem or any other problem? 3. Are any of you just running a base only? If so, which base? Just trying to find out from others which provides the best results (consistency and power). Thanks |
Re: 69 Camaro Cowl Induction
Its certainly works. Ive had the hood/aircleaner on three of my 69's that I have raced and have picked up ET /MPH on all three. NOT A LOT by no means but an improvement. I just ran the base with no element or lid. I seem to recall it worth about .03-.05 and almost one mph. These were all 11.50 - 12.0 BB cars. My last car would never break 115 mph without it !!!!!!

Any other SS and stocker racers care to chime in?
