I've seen a couple of true X pipes on FAST cars, but no H pipes. They (X pipes) have to be properly configured for diameter, and length before and after the X, and they're pretty hard to fit up under the car.

I've always heard that X-pipes can be faster than H-pipes. I put a TTI 3" X-pipe system with Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers ending at the rear end housing on my car. Every indication was that I picked up a bit, particularly after I removed 60lbs from elsewhere in the car to bring it back down to class minimum and did additional carb tuning.

Unfortunately I didn't do back-to-back tests. But I do keep extensive records of all my runs. I was sure enough of the comparison & results to keep it all on despite having to pull it for trans swaps. I can still pull the driveshaft and center section with it in place. But it's cramped.

I even got several compliments on the sound over the last couple of years.
