AFB carb 525 cfm

I'm having a carb problem. I have a 1964 Dodge 383. The 'carb' is running out of fuel. The pump is a new mallory 250 with the return line going from the pump to the cell. The fuel line is 1/2" to the reg. The mallory reg. fuel presure is @ 6 psi. The carb I have has a stock booster on the front primary side. Whats got me bugged, is on the underside, it has a hole from the factory on the discharge nozzle. AFB has used this type on the 1963-1965 carbs, I think. I have a 4130 off a 1966 and it has a newer style booster with no hole on the bottom, like the edelbrocks. I don't know if this hole is helping or hurting. I have 98 jets in the back. Floats are set at 7/32, float drop is 3/4. Fuel has been a problum since day one with my motor. The last time out, I put a 750 edelbrock on it, and the motor ran fine. I'm stuck running this small AFB. Any suggestions?

What size needles and seats are in the 525 ? Might compare them to the 750.

Make sure you have the triangle shaped needles in it, not the square ones. Also open the hole in the seats to .120 or #31 drill. Make sure there are no burrs around the hole on the needle side after you drill them.

Yes use the big needles and seats, also adjust float level way higher than that, about an 1/8 inch or so, just carefully bend float until it's still parallel with the lid and make sure you still have enough float drop.I have my super stock AVS set this way.
