Hoosier DO6, Yes? No?

I'm having a battle with my 29.5x9 M/T Radials on hot slick tracks. They have cost me a few races. Don't get me wrong, they're awesome on a good track but I need something more consistent. It's no fun blowing off a radial. I'm sure alot of you know that. I'm not trying to break records, just be consistent.

I'm looking for a bias ply tire that is at least 29 inches tall. have as much tread as possible and no more than 12 inches in section width. Hoosier makes a 29x10 in the DO6 compound. I ran a set of DO5s and loved them. Has anyone ran the D06s?

I ran the D06 30x9 Radial last year & they worked great! the only trouble I had with them is EVERYTHING wants to stick to them! I mean I've had to jack the car up in the trailer to get rocks off them before strapping the car down...their like a gumball!!

any problems on a hot track with those radials?

i'm having a problem with my car since it is such a long wheel base. on a hot day, the track starts falling apart where the shorter wheel base cars take off. when i stage up my rear tires are right behind the bald spots. so i'll take off, then blow the tires off. that's why i wanted to switch to a bias ply tire. i know you can recover better with a bias slick.

i'm kind of confused on what tire to go with. i want something wider than a 9 inch, but has the center section that will fit under my car. i can't go any bigger than 12", so that doesn't leave me much choice. a 28x10.5 would be pushing my car too hard on the top end, and a 29.5x10.5 is way too big. the closest thing i found that would work is the 29x10 hoosier DO6 bias ply.

I run the 29X10 DO6 bias tire on my bracket car. Car runs mid 11's. I have no complaints about the Hoosier tires, they work great on my car. 60fts vary little, maybe .0010 if that. The tire is very consistent, even on a hot track. Of cource track prep means alot and the local track I ususally race at (Richmond Dragway) does good with the prep. This is my second set of Hoosier tires and I have been very happy with both. Now if I could find the tree.........

2TON I ran into the same problem a couple weeks ago @ the local (shxx) track. 80% of the cars that run their are Mustangs...I have a Cutlass & like you I set behind the bald spot. I have M/T on the car right now & this is the frist i've run into this leaving then spin then hook again...i had no trouble @ that track last year with the D06 Hoosiers.

we run the 28x9 hoosiers d06 on a 119 in wheelbase wagon , i replaced a set of m/t and we wont go back.
we can run as high as 19lbs air with 4200# on the car ,no problems.

Goodyear 30x9 radials in a D-4A compound for me, on hot tracks, lite burnout.
