SBC stamped steel rocker ones, what brand?
I can't find any of the Crane Nitro Carb rockers (1.5 ratio, 3/8 stud) as my suppliers are sold out. What are some of the other brands you guys use, similar application. (1.260" single spring)
GM, Comp, Isky, Lunati, ???? |
Re: SBC stamped steel rocker ones, what brand?
GM the older the better...yup that's correct... old origional 60's 70's 80's...they don't make them that good anymore. the newer rail rockers from GM are ok also and since they have changed the guide plate / pushrod rule you can now legaly open the pushrod guide hole so it won't interfere with the rail rocker. Make sure they are GM as they should be black in color ( phosphorous coated )

Thanks guys, I ground/polished a nice radius on a set of Melling long slot's that we had in stock for a few years for the customer to try. (we had been using them years ago prior to the Nitro Carbs) He's going to pull them after his next race for me to magnaflux.
The next step is is to dig through our inventory of stock GM rockers and do the required clearancing mods. I have heard that Crane was having some supply issues but hopefully it will be resolved quickly for the suppliers I use. |
