Quicker 60 foot with 2-step

Is your footbrake car quicker in the 60' off a 2-step?

All depends. 455 likes to leave from idle. 283 likes 4500 on the floor. If your somewhere in the middle all you can do is test.

Thanks for the response but I think you might have missed my question.

I can currently leave anywhere from idle to 3000 RPM off the footbrake and the car 60 foots the same. However my reaction time does improve the higher the leave RPM.

My question really comes down to, will the car 60 foot quicker and hit the converter harder by leaving off a two-step (eliminating the carb pump shot) assuming the same current footbrake launch RPM?

if its any constilation,my 4 speed use to 60' better not using the two step, rather than on it ,i set the two step at 4000 rpm and with out i would leave a 3500 rpm and slam the gas to the floor as i dropped the clutch i guess i depends on what your car likes gmonde

Too many variables are involved. Engine torque curve, carburation, weight, suspension set up, stall/flash RPM, or clutch set up.

I've got an MSD 8735 sitting on my desk. I'll let you all know which is quicker....

Still looking for that 1.2xx 60' huh.................... In my experience a big block car isn't any faster with a 2 step. Like everyone else said though, way to many variables. You wont know until you try it.

No track time yet but I got it installed today and I already like it. It comes off the two-step quickly.

My old bracket car was a good bit quicker with the 2-step...in fact both our old bracket cars were but both were 350 chevys with 650 double pumper...
