Continental Converter numbers
I sent the following e-mail to Continental Converters Tech line. I got a very generic answer back about how each converter is built for only specific applications. Either the Tech working that day didn't know or didn't want to take time to answer my questions. So I sent a follow up E-mail, Ref: the first, that was more specific about the stator angle (sets base stall). No answer. I know some people like their product, but at the moment I'm not impressed with their on line product support. I'm at the point that I can build just about any S/B combination for the customer that might fit the converter. I could send it badk to be tweeked if it was close to fitting his combination.
Any of you guys know how to read their number codes? "I have a customer that has one of your 8 inch converters. He bought it at a swap meet & has no idea what it is designed for. It is stamped ACF1SSX5 He says it is a turbo spline. What is it? stator angle? Fin count? Hard hit? soft hit? Negative or positave fin? What application would it have been built for?" |
