Be patient, it usually takes a while to get an answer. If you give it time, you'll get good answers.

As a transmission builder, I'd say probably the Jericho. But you should try to get in touch with some of the successful stick drivers, especially the high HP big block guys like Kevin Helms and Ralph Porpora.

I have a somewhat unusual situation, I have 2 race cars, but only 1 transmission! I have a low 10 second 3100 lb Ford Fairmont bracket car with a 428 Cobra Jet engine, and a M/Stock 85 Mustang with a carbed 302. I use an older Jerico DR4 4 speed, that I bought used about 10 years ago. I ran the Jerico in the Fairmont for 6 seasons, and the past 2 seasons, the trans had been in the Stocker. I just put the trans back in the Fairmont last and so far, I have had absolutlely ZERO breakage of the transmission. I do know a few higher classed S/S cars that have broken a fair bit of Jerico pieces over the years, but we are talking a 8 second SS/A Cuda, and a 3550 lb 66 Chevelle 396- 375HP SS/F car. For a Stocker, even an A/S car, I think the Jerico, and most importantly, the right clutch, is plenty good enough. The SS/A car switched to a G Force a few years ago, and he feels the GForce is stronger, but it has also broken a few parts.

Go with the Jerico and call Rob Youngblood for the clutch

Contact Rob Youngblood thru www.advancedclutches.com. He will get you the best parts (both transmission and clutch) available and it will be cheaper if you buy the trans, bellhousing and clutch through him.
