1967 Fairlane Super Stock
I started this project a long time ago than changed my mind and it was going to be a street car and stopped working on it. Fast forward to 2013 and the Super Stock project is back on. We have been working on Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine Coyote powered 1966 Mustang project car and they want to do a few drag racing stories so they talked me into finishing the 1967 Fairlane. At this time the plan is to run a 390 with a C4, CalTracs and OpenTracker front suspension http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/
This is what I started with http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...20Stock/15.jpg We installed the roll cage http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0Stock/138.jpg Stripped everything down to bare metal than epoxy primed with SPI black epoxy http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0Stock/129.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0Stock/135.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0Stock/127.jpg I finished the major bodywork http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0Stock/272.jpg OpenTracker front suspension http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0Stock/246.jpg I will be painting it SPI Red http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0Stock/274.jpg |

Re: 1967 Fairlane Super Stock
We are building this kind of old school mini tubbed with leaf springs. It may not be the quickest but I think we will have some fun.

Re: 1967 Fairlane Super Stock
Rusty, are you going to cut the crossmember out that is between the shock towers?

Re: 1967 Fairlane Super Stock
My 68 is having major header issues. The Mustang ones will work if I cut the member. Many guys put a bolt in like the Mustang. They are much smaller and allow more room for the header. It will also aid in oil pan removal should you need to pull a rod. This is my observations only and I still haven't cut mine.

Rusty...Nice build. How big of a rear tire will you be able to run with the mini-tub? How wide was the strip you added? Thank you...MB.
