Trunk Mounted Battery Rule..........
Hey guys I am building a new car, and need to know about the rule for sealing off the trunk area. If I run a moroso sealed battery box, and vent it outside the trunk area, do I also have to run the steel or aluminum plate between the trunk and rear seat, or is just the sealed box legal?
thanks, Kirk |

Re: Trunk Mounted Battery Rule..........
Are you planning on using a fuel cell? If so, you will need to seal off the trunk from the driver area.

Re: Trunk Mounted Battery Rule..........
The rules state that if you RELOCATE the battery to the trunk, you need a cut off switch. What if the battery originally came in the trunk from the factory? Can NHRA require adding the cabling and switch to a STOCK setup?

Re: Trunk Mounted Battery Rule..........
Master Cutoff Mandatory on all cars with battery in trunk, see rulebook pg 144 under "Electrical"

Re: Trunk Mounted Battery Rule..........
thanks for the help guys, I was given some wrong info from someone else, and I wanted to make sure i didn't have to do both. I already have the master cutoff switch mounted, so i should be good to go with the moroso box.
thanks again, Kirk |
