Re: Never Forget
Remembrance indeed, a “day that will live in infamy” as FDR put it. Hope the history books don’t diminish it going forward. Equally worth remembering is how the US moved forward without acrimony to help rebuild Japan after the war. Even pardoned those who could have been tried for war crimes. If you’ve never read the book “Unbroken” (not the movie!) it gives a lot of perspective to those times.
My Dad served in the Pacific...May they all RIP. |
Re: Never Forget
My Dad served in the Navy in World War 2. He was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He was on Attu. I wish he was still around to tell me the stories one more time.
God bless all those soldiers and I hope and pray that we never forget them. |
Re: Never Forget
And in a somewhat related story...certainly not to diminish the sacrifices paid by the greatest generation, without them the world would be a far darker place.

Re: Never Forget
My Hero (dad) was part of the greatest generation. He was a POW to Hitler's Naz*s in WWII. God, I miss him.
