2015 Mustang Ecoboost K/SA?

If I'm reading it right, the 310-horsepower engine is factored by NHRA at 264 horsepower for Stock Eliminator. At 12.78 pounds per factored horsepower, it would be a natural J car, but I was looking at the K (13.0 pound) class because I'm wondering if the combo is one of those turbo combinations capable of making index without too much work.

13 pounds times 264 horsepower, plus 170 pounds, equals 3,602 pounds minimum weight for K.

The K/SA index is 12.65, and the record (which I would not be shooting for) is 11.39 @ 114.02.

Is my math right, so far?

Lund Racing has been 11.03 @ 122 in one with stock engine/turbo/manifolds/trans/converter, on street tires, in what appears to be a full-weight street car with air-conditioning and a license plate.

Does this combo look like something worth exploring?

Something tells me you're not being entirely forthright with me on this. ;)

and ...... 11.03 @ 122 with the factory IRS... really a true stocker lol ... no sissy straight axle conversion... I see some 2010 and newer camaros and challengers,2015 and newer mustangs in the 8's and 9's retaining the factory independent rear suspensions (with upgrades of course) .. maybe its time to rescind the rear axle conversion rule for say 2008 and newer traditional stockers, (after all it's not 1965 anymore, some one in here did say "it's 2018" ) and keep the COPO,DRAG PACK and COBRA JET back halved 4 link FS cars in FS and SS, not prowling around in regular stock classes in disguise ......

Lol. Not looking to set the world on fire. Not even looking to be able to stand a reasonable chance of winning a heads-up race against another K/SA car. Just kind of spit-balling a little foot-brake retirement project, that would allow me to be able to have some fun at local class races. If it would reliably make index, I'd probably be happy with it.

It looks like you can buy these things for not a lot of money, the current factor appears to be...ahem..."advantageous", and a racing operation that doesn't require a truck and trailer could conceivably be simpler and less expensive.

Yup. Anything M and faster. 16.1 harness and 3.2A/1 jacket/pants also.

I'd like to be able to find a commercially-available NHRA-legal 1-3/4"x.083 chrome-moly 6-point roll bar for one of these.
