Any suggestions on an affordable 9000lb 2 post lift. I see Greg Smith is an advertiser here and it looks like some decent stuff. Any advice welcomed, pro or con.

I bought the Greg smith 10k two post x-tra tall and x-tra wide 2 post lift. I can drive (park) the class A motor home thru it. I also got 2 tall lift stands, a tall trans jack, roller oil drain, and hose reel with the purchase and made an offer of $2,500. not too shabby. this is also a clear floor span. the bar is on top of the lift. and it comes with a variety of truck adapters. I use it everyday. I am going to buy a 4 post from them to put in the other bay...
also, I go pick it up here in Delaware. no sales tax

I have a Atlas Pro V10 from Greg Smith as well as a 4 post that was used as a alignment rack untill our tornado 2 years ago. They were the only 2 pieces of equitment to survive it without damage. I have never had any problems with either one and you cant beat them for the price. If you are close to them drive to one of their locations and pick it up in person. At the Indy store they always throw stuff in for free or almost free on the 4 trips I have made up there. I have a bunch of other stuff that came from there too. With that said DO NOT buy one of thier tire mounting or balancing machines. I got them to take them both back after some hastle but JUNK does not even start to describe them.

I also have the Greg Smith Atlas 10,000 lb lift... Built garage in 2008 and have not had a problem with it... One car is on it all the time..... Recommend highly.....

For the record, went with the Greg Smith recommendations. Very pleased. Thanks for the advice.

I'm going to buy the 10K extra wide lift from Greg Smith next week, anyone install their own or did you guys find someone who would do it?

did it myself. assembled it laying over on floor. then got 5 friends to come over and we walked it up and into place. then I drilled the holes for the bolts and done!

I did mine by myself as well. I stood up both side pieces with a engine crane and then put the crossbar on the top. I was able to do it by myself. The crossbar was the tricky part. I put the two pieces together loosely and put one side up on top of one sidepost and walked the other side up as I climbed the ladder. Secured it in place with some wire and went over to the other side and lined it up and installed the bolts loosely. Then went back to the first side removed the wire and put the bolts in. If you have help and 2 ladders at the same time it will be much easier. After the cross bar was installed loosely I measured the bottom and moved them around until they were at the specified distance and square to each other. Then just drill and anchor it. It will come bolted together with brackets at the ends. If you bring it home on a open trailer like I did a regular engine hoist will allow you to pick up the two big side pieces one at a time to unload them and get them stood up. If you bring it home in the back of a pickup I don't think you will be able to do it with a engine hoist. Will most likely need a few big boys or a wrecker,crane or loader tractor to get it out of the truck.
