Season Finale
 

On October 1st, several brave and hardy souls loaded up and traveled to Cayuga for the final race of the 2016 season. Despite everyone's best efforts and intentions, our earliest October race ever was a wash. By 11am Saturday, the track decided that it was too wet to attempt drying the race surface any further. In their defence the starting line was actually under water. So with that decision, The Can/Am Series has crowned a new champion....Tony Valerio and his 1968 Camaro is the first Stocker in quite a while to be on top of the standings when it was all said and done. Way to go Tony! and congratulations to all of the remaining top 10 drivers who fought hard all year to accumulate points. For those who don't know, this run to the championship was extremely close and could have changed hands with a win and a 6 round field, for Chris Lozon or last years champion, Chuck Nagy. It has been another great season. The racing was as tight as ever, while the competition was matched by the great comradery and support among all the drivers. We all had a great time and I'm sure we all look forward to a great fun filled banquet, November 26th, Michelangelo Events and Conference Centre, Hamilton.
