70s Sun oil pressure guage question

Got a friend who is trying to adapt a AN fitting to his 1970s vintage Sun oil pressure guage. He says it has a weird thread on it.Anyone know what thread this is,and where he can get a adapter? thanks

Does it have a copper line? If so it could be pipe thread,if not probably compression fitting.

You might try a Jegs part # 361-968704 1/8 " npt. Female to 4an it might work and it might not. Kenney Kelley

Old oil pressure gauges used either plastic line or copper with a ferule and had a tapered seat on the gauge. The fitting/threaded part on the gauge was not removable if I recall right. No way to adapt to AN fitting from what I recall. The lines were 1/8 inch.

flare is 45* automotive and not the 37* which is AN--- R Biebel is right you might have to get a "custom" made hydraulic hose or fitting to make it work---you won't have stainless braided but you will have a new hose-----dont forget if you go with a new copper line remember to coil it a few times to allow for engine movement and vibration--FED 387
