Wenzel MacNeish Time Run
Did anyone get a photo of Ben and I in our qualifying time shot together on Friday? Would like a couple to post on my web site. Looked like the "Bobsey Twins" going down the track. Two of the 602 Z28s built in 1967 were at the Columbus race.
Thanks, Jerry |
Re: Wenzel MacNeish Time Run
Is Jerry still running the Strickler Camaro in different paint or has he built a new car and put the other car in a museum?

Re: Wenzel MacNeish Time Run
Jerry parked the Strickler Z28 and built a new car from scratch. Another real 67 Z28.

Re: Wenzel MacNeish Time Run
The Strickler car is a 1968 Z28. The 67's were small journal 327 blocks with 283 cranks. I told him I'd give him sticker price for it, $2995.00! LOL! The 67 car was purchased new by Jerry's friend, Ray Farrell. I saw the car, for the first time, in 1973, at Douglass Speed Center.

Who won?:D
Dave |
Re: Wenzel MacNeish Time Run
I'm a Mopar man at heart, but I think the Strickler Camaro is cool because Dave won the SS championship in it on the day I was born, Oct 20 1968. This was according to a story on the old "NHRA Today" show that Bob Frey did. I still have it on video tape somewhere. Those 302 Zs (pronounced ZED here in Canada) are neat cars.

Kenny & Dave,
Thanks for posting the photos. I delivered an engine to one of my customers in Columbus and he shot these pix. Jerry |
