Computer Gurus
My shop is 300 feet from my house. What is the best cost effective way to get WIFI to the shop?
Thanks, Rod |
Re: Computer Gurus
Rod,
My shop is 300 ft from the house and this is what I have. It works great and is a protected network. The extender is in the shop, and connects to the house wireless wifi. https://www.netgear.com/home/product...rs/EX6200.aspx |

Re: Computer Gurus
I posted this same question on another forum and one response was to look at wireless bridge. I found one on amazon for $59 dollars shipped. It says it will extend wifi up to 2k. It will be here Tuesday. I will post how it works.
Thanks, Rod |
Re: Computer Gurus
Rod,
I'd REALLY like to know how it works for you. My shop is 150' from the house and I tried the range extender and it didn't work. Never thought of having the extender located in the shop as previously posted. When I talked with the BB geeks they advised to locate in the house - returned the extender Eric |

I'd like to know if it worked, same deal house about 100 ft. from the house, metal siding, no windows.

Re: Computer Gurus
Here's another option to consider - CCrane makes a few different WiFi range-extender products and this looks like it would be perfect for a detached garage/shop, especially if you want to be able to stream Warren Evans' www.dragracer.tv programs.
https://www.ccrane.com/item/ant_wifi...ystem__2-4_ghz I've got the FiOS WiFi router and although it works better than just the old extender, it still leaves "dead spots" in the yard. Lew |
