1970 Nova rear differential and brake choices

Building a 1970 Nova for use in Pro Bracket but we are aiming towards stock in the near future. Will be using Calvert bars with split mono leaf springs. I need to purchase a 12 bolt and am considering the Moser housing and axle package as a starting point. Looking for opinions or experience with this option. Seems like you are lucky to find an original 12 bolt close to this price anymore, plus the housing will be about all you actually use if you do find one let alone the work needed to use it.
Second issue is which rear disc brake kit to purchase. Many options, but again looking for opinions.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Kurt

Been using a Moser housing for quite a few years, it's an excellent piece and a great value as compared to finding an original 12 bolt. The housing from Moser will come already prepared for c-clip eliminator bearing set-up.

Leave the original 12bolts to the collectors. It just doesn't make sense to pay too much for one and cut it up. Not to mention that you will eventually bend or tear the stock, thin tubes and have to replace them anyway.

I would use biggest wheel bearing and housing end, will work better than c-clip eliminator setup.

If you go with moser you can get a end that takes the small gm brake setup but uses a big ford bearing.

Always the best choice.

Kurt, I just completed a 68 Camaro that was done with an eye towards stock elim. I went with a Strange 12- bolt with their S-series disc brakes. The best deal I found, by far, was thru Alex at Moneymaker Racing. Very happy with the set-up, and all the tech help from both Alex and Tony at Moneymaker and Strange Eng. I have also run Moser stuff in my 69, and was happy with it,also.

Do they both (Moser and Strange) pay contingency money?,,, something to think about too.

In addition to paying product contingency for the finalists don't forget about the Perfectly Strange award for winning a round with a dead on run.
Thanks for the props Dana.

They also use 1/2 bolts instead of 7/16 on the caps. ---Trevor
