Assist Step for a Tag Trailer
Has anyone had any experience adding an assist step to an enclosed trailer. I have a 24 ft Haulmark and was looking at some manual retractable steps offered on the internet. Just looking for Pros and Cons.

Re: Assist Step for a Tag Trailer
Iv'e made a few from alum. I use 1.25" schedule 40 rd. pipe and 1.5" sq. tube as cross bars and checker plate as the tread. The two pipes slide into 2" sq. steel tubes that gets welded under the trailer supports. Pin it when it's stored. Looks nice and works well.

Don't have a pic. Built these for customers. My current trailer has a factory built fold down step.

Re: Assist Step for a Tag Trailer
Just a follow up to the question about adding a step. I found this one on the Camping World website It is inexpensive, easy to install, holds up to 300 lbs and is retractable. The manufacturer is a company called Lippert, there part # is 432678. Their website is www.lci1.com I highly recommend this step.
