383 2bbl carb

383 2BBL carb for a '65 B Body. Looked a NHRA specs, I'll assume that any 2BBL is acceptable as long as its tranny specific. Any suggestions what one works the best? Anyone a guru on this set up? Thanks

It has to be the same make, model and throttle bore size. Does not matter if it was produced for the auto or manual tranny or correct serial number for a specific combo. Jim

The spec gives you throttle bore size, that is what they go by,. I cant remember the cfm on them but some where around 350 I think. Holley makes a 350 cfm carb and they can be made to flow more than that. Find some old carbs and start the measuring process and find out if the holley is accepted.

That combination is going to be even more challenging than our dinky 525 cfm Carter. Finding rebuildable cores is only the first hurdle. Make, model, throttle bore measurement-only requirement is correct. That makes the job easier. There is definitely a best carb for the application. Which one is it? It would be great if it was a Holley.

I have daily driven a few 318 Poly 64-66 B cars with the 2 bbl and they seemed to really work with a little attention. I'm almost sure they were Carters.

Good Luck
