nhra rule book says that fiberglass is limited to the hood----does that allow an after market hood? If so can you use a cowl induction hood with a legal size scoop on it?:confused: Thanks

Aftermarket hoods allowed, however, there are scoop size limitations as regards to size. I believe the scoop you intend to use, will not meet the criteria. Check this site's classified section. I believe there are a few legal ones for sale.

ya get 11 inches from the original hood surface to the top of the scoop opening measured vertically--- if ya can get a cowl hood and hood scoop at/under 11 inches ya should be OK otherwise not acceptable--- thats the way I read it--FED 387

This is legal Both scoops in the pictures are mounted on Glass hoods.
I have seen a cowl hood be deemed legal, but it was just like said by FED... under 11 inches
