83' Camaro Top Strut Mount.
I noticed the rubber bushing in my top strut mount( camber plate? ) is cracked and falling apart. My search at the junkyard turned up 8 that were in worse shape than mine. Found some in the shed that are in good shape but brings up the question, is an aftermarket piece available or is there a way to eliminate the rubber altogether? Junkyard parts are getting harder to find for these cars. I use an old set of Koni struts up front. Thanks in advance guys.

One option, the factory replacement upper mounts are still available. Check your local parts store for Moog or other brands.

Re: 83' Camaro Top Strut Mount.
If you go with OEM, I believe the Z-28's and IROC's had a bearing, where the cheaper models had a bushing ...

Jeff, will check that out. I don't remember seeing that before but will check, have access to many examples. The ones I dug out of the shed have bushings. Will price new pieces also. Nice Kit shown there, maybe in the spring time.

Re: 83' Camaro Top Strut Mount.
We use RaceCraft on all the 82-92 Camaro that we install Santhuff Struts on. The work great.

Re: 83' Camaro Top Strut Mount.
The Racecraft setup can be used with any strut right?

I don't know if the aftermarket upper strut mounts are legal in stock or super stock as I'm just a bracket racer. I have had your exact problem and bought a nice set on ebay that work with factory struts and aftermarket replacements. They are all steel and can accept a coilover also. They have 2 sets of adjustments and give you more caster.

Never say " just a bracket racer "... ha ha because that what most of these guys are once eliminations start , unless a heads up situation arises ...
