In my case it is 60lds off the nose steel head vs aluminum and my combo never came with an aluminum head, but it now has an aftermarket aluminum and steel head.

In 1970 Chevy offered the aluminum head as a factory option on the big blocks. This change is consistent with the other years with FACTORY optional aluminum heads.

I don't know how it helps, but I have 200 pounds of lead for sale if you know anyone interested.

Thanks for the clarification, makes more sense now. Only thing on the plus side of it is that if the aluminum head gets HP the steel head will not. Just looks like they opened up another can of worms with other combos having aluminum and steel heads on the same combo and not being separated.
