RV and Trailer towing

I have AAA RV plus for many years. Had used them just twice for tires for the RV. I just found out that if I need my RV towed for repair, that they would tow the RV , but not the enclosed trailer. I know that Good Sam would tow both , but heard good and bad about their service . Does anyone know if there are any other options or another company that I could go with , to get both the RV and enclosed trailer towed to the same place if I need that done. Thanks.

Re: RV and Trailer towing

I have had good sam platinum plus for several years now. They towed my pick up crew cab diesel home so I could fix it. No out Of pocket expenses.

Also, had an alternator fry on our 34 ft diesel pusher coming home from Indy. My brother was driving the rig to his house. They will tow 100 miles anywhere or to a qualified shop. They pulled the RV and the trailer separately to our buddies house. No out of pocket. We pulled the alternator and had it rebuilt and were back in business.

I've used CoachNet successfully for RV tire issues and they advertise trailers included.

You might get a quote from them.

One thing that is cool with platinum plus good sams is that it covers all of your vehicles plus whatever you are driving. So if you are carpooling to a race the coverage follows you even if you are driving someone else’s rig.

Re: RV and Trailer towing

This post was very concerning for me as I, too, have AAA RV towing. Mine is the "Premier RV" coverage, so I just called them to find out about the policy for towing my truck and gooseneck trailer. They told me that if I need to be towed to let roadside service know that I need to have both vehicles towed and they would be sure to send the proper equipment to tow both vehicles.

Dan, you may want to double check on that. I went to local 3 times in the last year and each time they had to call someone higher up to get the answer. The local personal did not know . Always , at least in Ohio , will not tow the enclosed trailer. Good Sam has a good price on their RV coverage as compared to Coach Net.

I have the AAA Rv coverage and they have towed the truck and trailer no charge.

I also have Coachnet. They say they will tow the trailer. Also, I put collector car insurance on my race car so it would be legal to run in "Street" car classes. My collector car insurance will pay to have it taken just about any where I want to get it to a safe location and the insurance is dirt cheap. You might look into that as well.
