Thanks Mike for putting these together! Couldn't make it last year but will be coming this year to shoot pics for my stock/super stock story that will be in our magazine.

Mike, we should have the racers dinner at the Tilted Kilt restaurant. Cool bar with some good scenery!

We will be there again this year. Always a fun race that is well run.

Kevin, I'm proud of you, most young fellows would be more interested in searching out young ladies. It's nice to see your more cultured side. Hopefully Mike will heed your advice us old guys appreciate a good view as well :)

Larry Mohar is in charge of the annual dinner reservations. He and another racer told me a week or two ago that the Hard Times café (where we had been the past two years) had closed. The place we were for years before that (the Crazy Horse Steakhouse) had closed several years ago also. Larry had suggested either Texas Roadhouse or The Tilted Kilt, which both are pretty close to the track and all the hotels and stuff I listed earlier along Dual Highway (a.k.a. U.S. 40). I know Texas Roadhouse does not have a separate room, like the old C.H. and HT café did. So we can get the Tilted Kilt is that would be preferred?

OK, Larry had suggested two places, in an e-mail, One is "Texas Roadhouse, and Barefoot Bernie's. Both are good." I know Texas Roadhouse has good food (and my parents and I have eaten at the one there the past two years on Friday), but it would be difficult to make a reservation for the 30-60 people we usually get. I would like to go to a place that has a separate room (like the old Crazy Horse), and has alcohol; I know many people enjoy a beer or two at the end of the racing day. Just tossing some ideas out there.

Tilted Kilt is never packed. And the back part of the restaurant has long tables for large groups. That's my vote. Coldest beer I've ever had too 😄

Anyone need any C-11 or C-12 since the track does not have?

Thanks

As far as the racers dinner on Saturday night, I will need a head count of all those planning on coming to dinner.

Several of the places Larry talked to require a head count (as close as possible) to accurately plan ahead. In an e-mail from Larry:

"I went to Tilted Kilt and Primanti Bros. today. They were like the other two (Texas Road House and Barefoot Bernies), we could call on the same day as early as we can-. -But they would like as close of a count as possible, understandably so. They were both very nice sport bars. Both were at the Hag Mall, right across from the places we went to before. They had outside entrance's, at the J.C. Penny end of the mall. I'll bring the phone numbers and we'll make a decision."

So if you are planning on coming to dinner on Saturday night, please let me/us know. Thank you.

--We should be set up, at the track, near the rear of the right-hand side (main) staging lanes; not far from the Tech Building where you go through Tech (at/near where we were last year/every year). You can stop in there after going through Tech to sign up each day.

--Also, bye runs DO NOT have to be made. No staging the car, taking the Tree, breaking the beams, etc. We made that rule several years ago. One year at H-town, in Super Pro semifinals, the first pair ran and there was smoke on the top end. They shut the bye run car off in the waterbox while they checked the track. A minute later, all was deemed good to go, so they told the bye run car to start back up, and the car would not start. So he lost on the bye-run to the final. I always thought it was dumb to lose on a bye run, so we changed the rule in our Series the following year. If you come up to get paired up for second, third, etc round and have the bye, you may
~return to the pits
~remain in the lanes if in a round-robin situation
~make the run if you so desire

I know it is still a week away. But, if the forecast for The Annual Mason-Dixon Stock/Super Stock Fall Classic in Hagerstown stays like this, I will be OK with that.

Saturday: Sunny and 61*
Sunday: Mostly sunny and 60*

Lows near 40 each day. And, most importantly, zero percent chance of rain.
