Diesel particulate filters

I have been looking at replacing my 2007 Showhauler with a newer model. I have been told by some diesel techs that with the problems with the filters and regen systems that they aveexperienced to stay away from model years that have them. Anybody have some experiences with them they would be willing to share. Thanks, Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

Re: Diesel particulate filters

The 8.9 Cummins in my 2016 Entegra performed flawlessly for 34,000 miles, changed fuel filter at 10K intervals without issue. Was particular about not putting > 5% bio. Used ~ 5 gallons of DEF every 4,000 miles. Think much of the bias against the newer systems originated with the early years of DEF and regeneration. No experience with CATs or the larger Mercedes motors but know from experience with the sprinter and MB SUV that they can be a bit more finicky than the Cummins.

FYI the Super C market is pretty robust right now with NEWMAR’s new offerings and the Renegade Verona is a very nice coach. We can talk at BG about what I’m investigating.
