When does a record revert to a "minimum" ?

Can one of you guys educate a dumb bracket racer. When does an NHRA national record revert to "minimum" ? Is it a certain time period or are there other factors involved ? How is the "minumum" determined ?

Just curious,

Rule book says:
"Comp, Super Stock and Stock records will retire automatically after two years, on the last day of the previous month in which the record was set."

It's way in the back...page 247...towards the bottom of the page. Glad to help...

I found it after your first reply. Is the "minimum" just the previous record ?

I'm pretty sure they add .50 to the index for the minimum.
Like at the National Events where they run Class ,in a single car class you must run
-.50 to be credited with the Class Win.....
