Phoenix tires

Racers,

tell me about your recent experiences with Phoenix drag slicks and the front runners.

Re: Phoenix tires

Larry , I personally do not run Phoenix tires any more since they don't offer a tire that suits my needs , but I deliver them at the track for the local distributor .
I can tell you there are not a lot of racers running them ,Almost all are Super Stock racers . ....That said , those who are running them are some of the quickest and successful racers in Division 1 Including the SS winner at the recent D1 Atco National Open .

I’d contact Mike Crutchfield (our D2 SRAC rep, great racer and Phoenix dealer). He’s a great guy as well.

I've replied on YB too. The frt. runners are tall compared to others and they work just fine. I've run them and have friends that run them. I've run the bias slicks for a few years in smaller sizes and have friends that run them in 14x32. They work well and last. They are the stickiest gooiest tires I've ever seen. You can load the car and let it sit for a week and when you unload if there is gravel the tire will look like a donut with sprinkles! After a pass your hand will stick to the tire. My biggest complaint running a small tire that is outside the 1/4 panel ate the lower rear is the rubber is brutal to get off of the car. You'll find little pieces of rubber everywhere and the smear and streak when you wash the car. It takes tar remover to get it off.

We've run the 9x30x15 bias f9 compound for years in a couple of cars. Good tire that last a long time!

WD-40 works very well also.

We ran Firestone then Phoenix. I've never had any problems with Phoenix tires. My car will hook in a car wash with them.
