MSD Grid

I was curious to know if any of you using the Grid would share your experiences. Is it easy to install and use? They say it can be used with several of their ignitions? Is there a reason to use the digital 7 instead of the 7AL? Do you need to use a dual sync distributor? What if anything did you see as a performance gain? Can you store multiple timing curves to switch back and forth? What am I not asking that I should be? Thanks, Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

Hey what's up Mike. I installed the grid and the black ignition box that pairs with it, although you can use a 7AL or 6AL with it as well. I run it with a carberated engine in SS. It's easier to answer your questions over the phone as it can be complicated to articulate via messaging. 5855065113/mike. I'd like to think I have a pretty good understanding of it and what the advantages are over other systems.

Mike we have a grid with powergrid7 ignition box but i was planning on using a 7al-2 and to answer your question i don't believe it will work with a digital 7 alot of the functionality would be duplicated, you would have 2 boxs trying to do the same thing also i you don't need the dual syn distributer how ever i believe you do need a crank trigger and if you want to do individual cylinder timing there is an accessory that clips on the #1 plug wire to allow that.

Will they work with an odd fire V-6 and the MSD modified Odd fire 7 AL box?

Adger,

Don't know if they will work in an odd-fire engine, however, they are being used with the even-fire, 4.3L based, V-6 engines in Comp Eliminator.
