Mechanical Throttle Stop Adjustment - Question

Does anyone have experience with how much adjustment is needed to start effecting ET? So, today I got some testing done and either I have a issue with the car or I need to adjust T-stop out more to start effecting things... Overview of today: Basically, I made six 1/4 mile runs today between 1pm and 4pm. Three runs were all out (T-stop not hitting carb linkage) and three runs with T-stop adjusted out 5-6 complete turns out after initially touching carb linkage. The problem was the runs at full throttle were SLOWER than when I had T-stop adjusted out 5-6 turns.. Make no sense to me...! LOL
tt3 5 turns out 1.774 12.618/107.45
tt4 0 turns out 1.785 12.682/106.97
tt5 0 turns out 1.782 12.583/107.61
tt6 5 turns out 1.763 12.570/107.43
tt7 0 turns out 1.775 12.601/107.25
tt8 6 turns out 1.770 12.555/107.90

*Carb is a Holley 700 DP. (secondary linkage removed, so just running on 2 barrels)...

Thanks!

Since nobody had any input I figured I would just keep it to myself.... If anyone (except MW and LG) wants to guess I tell you if you get it correct..... LOL

Probably have to readjust your throttle cable or linkage every time you adjust your mechanical stop, and go back to zero turns on your stop.

Re: Mechanical Throttle Stop Adjustment - Question

Thanks for the input Patric. So, actually the throttle linkage is the stock threaded rod from the bracket on the firewall to the carb linkage. Here's the scoop: For some reason the engine liked the mechanical throttle stop adjusted 5-6 turns out after initial contact with the carb linkage more than it liked FULL THROTTLE! I should have just turned the throttle stop out a few more turns to where it actually would have started slowing the car down as expected. The track was "green" so the consistency was not there until after the 330, and there was some changes in wind during the day..

I think because of my particular/specific engine combo and that I had the secondaries disconnected, and my jetting, etc., the engine may have liked the effective jetting better or the velocity was better or something with this very slight change in the blades. If I double the T-stop turns it will surely slow down, I'm sure!! :-)
