Golf Cart Batteries

Looking for suggestions before I have to replace the batteries in my golf cart. They only seem to last a couple of years. Is there any way to bring them back to a useable condition, or am I faced with a huge expense?

Looks to me like this would be a great time to trade, sell, do whatever it takes to get a gas cart. The cost of a set of batteries every few years is hard to justify. And replacing one or two is begging for trouble. A golf cart at a race track is more of a tool than luxury. And we all know how usefully a broken tool is.

My son manages the local Interstate Batteries dealership.

He says that folks will get a lot more life out of their golf cart batteries if they keep them charged during the winter and maintain them. Maintenance as keeping the batteries clean and full of water.

Re: Golf Cart Batteries

I had a similar problem with the 6 volt batteries in my golf cart and I cured it with installing 3 - 12 volt batteries it cuts the cost in half plus they charge faster, your cart will be faster cause you reduce the overall weight of the vehicle. I always put the charger (36 volt) on at the track when not in use to keep the charge up. When your not using the cart away from the track always turn off the kill switch under the seat and the cart will always be ready when you need to use it. Just my 2 cents hope it helps.
