two step rev limit max for foot brake automatic

As i wait for my last parts to roll in for the switch over to automatic ,, what do you guys have your two step rev limiters set at(what rpm are you leaving at) ,i know converter has alot to say about that ,but i have a 8" specked out ,from my dyno sheet supplied to my vendor ,, it looks like i will be ready before the tracks open here on the north east ,,

what brake pressure are you holding at ?

i cant take watching the news anymore !

The question you are asking is going to depend on what kind of brakes you have. I have Strange Brakes on the car that I drive and they hold good. Because if your chip is too high RPM and your brakes don't hold, your car will move through the lights. Because what works on my car might not work on yours. Also it depends on the size of the motor. I also use an Adjustable Chip which will go down below 3000 RPMS. I don't know if this will help you or not but it works for me. Kenney Kelley

yes i am aware of brake holding vs pressure ,i have wilwoods 4 piston on front and rear. so your holding and leaving @ 3000 rpm ?

The car I drive leaves at 2700 RPM and the pressure is set at 900 psi. The pressure doesn't change the only thing I might change is the RPM's.

3,000- 3,200 on the 2 step is where to start with a 5300-5400 convertor.
May have to move some depending on front tires and air pressure.
Brake pressure, 350- 500 psi depends on mfg and what pads you use. Hawk DR pads work well.
Ultimate adjustable BPS works well wired into the 2 step. Try a LED light that comes on to tell you visually you have correct Brake pressure to hold the car and the 2 step is activated. (Easier than looking at a guage.)

I have my 2 step set at 3500. I hold about 700 pounds on the rear brakes. Rear brakes are drum type

Don't forget to find out what the car likes, results may be different than expected.

And different types of brake pads can offer better (or worse) "holding" power.

I usually have the two step set at 3000 or 3200. Mine is a trans brake, but when I foot braked it on the two step it was the same rpm. But I think I could have gone up to 4500. My understanding is higher rpm will lower reaction time, but won't change the et or 60 ft. But your results my vary.

I have my pressure switch set to come off at about 850. Staging with comfortable force on the pedal gives me about 1150-1200 psi in the rear line, I vary the rpm between 32-3600 typically, but have gone to 4000. This is with a converter the flashes 5400, and single rear wilwood 4 piston calipers. I do have some sort of special pad but I can't remember the brand, they were supposed to be more aggressive holding than a normal pad.
