. . . . and 1 hp/cu in out of that whale is a lot of blubber!!!
Hey, Vic! Why don't you do something really wild? . . like the 400M for Q/SA at a svelte 4590 lbs? |
Re: Moby Vic!!!!
Same carb(1.21)/valves(2.06)/intake and lift is like .406 to .428 compared to the 351M so I think it'd be better.

Re: Moby Vic!!!!
351 blueprints under 9:1 compression; 400 is 9.7. 50 more cubic inches.

Re: Moby Vic!!!!
OK. Both the 351M & 400M use the same size 2bbl (1.686/1.21 ) the same heads with the same valves. The 351 has a little over 8 1/2:1 compression & the 400M a little under 9 1/4:1. Yeah the cams are different but with what cam grinders can do these days, I think that's pretty much a wash. (probably wrong).
The 75 & 74 460"s The valves, cams are the same the compression's are similar But as Billy reminded us: Quote:

Re: Moby Vic!!!!
351vs400 I just figure with the same top end the smaller cubes it's got to be fed better. Same as a 302 is ok but the 351W is a pig cause it uses the same head/valves.
50 cubes in that case is a detriment not a bonus. A point in compression is obviously nothing to sneeze at either, but there are more factors in the 351's favour than the 400's. The 460 is just cool regardless:) |
