connecting rods
starting to put together an engine for my stocker. need some rods. got the list of approved rods by nhra, now i'm confused. eagle part number on the list is crs-5090-f. says the weight is 590 grams which is the h beam rod. does this mean i can't run the i beam rods which has the same part number?

What was the answer?

Re: connecting rods
I don't see an I beam that has the same part number on Eagles site.
All I beams show SIR prefix in the part number. All H beam are a CRS prefix. Looks like NHRA wants an H beam from Eagle |
Re: connecting rods
From the approved list, I will stay away from the Eagle rod.
Have used successfully Crower P/N SP91224, or the Scat P/N 2-IRC5090P. They are both "I" Beam design rods. |

Re: connecting rods
Crower Sportsman are on my sbf. Every time I check the bottom end they look like new.

Re: connecting rods
I think if you check rod bolt and rod beam c to c. stretch
regularly, should not be an issue. Bob |
