Re: Original hemi dart information

Check out the right (passenger side) lower section of the shock tower
of the Cuda body in the Jersey garage.
Looks like one of those 'Master Mechanics at Hurst' used a sledge hammer on the inner fenderwell.
OUCH!

Torsion-Bar Eddie,
On the pricing.
The $4204 price was for racers who picked their cars up.
The factory did not deliver the cars to the racers.
Due to legal issues and factory liability, racers had to sign a
waiver, including picking up their car.
The $4204 price was also the dealers cost.
I believe that the Regional office had control over just what racers were selected and offered the cars first.

Re: Original hemi dart information

i couple interesting points on the "garage" picture. one is the fenderwell hammering which we know was done by Hurst to clear the valve cover. note too the offset master cylinder plate still bolted to the firewall.

what i want to know is how both cars ended up ON TOP of the rubble!:) stored on the roof maybe?

not sure if this one was real but in the Wilson, N.C. area there was what looked like a '68 Barracuda Hemi car sitting in a backyard for years. it disappeared about 2 years ago but was there for at least 10-15 years before that. maybe it was just an old Barracuda racecar with a Hemi hood?

the intake in the top of the cart looks interesting too, medium rise tunnel ram maybe?

thank you for the pictures:)

Dave

Dave, you're welcome. That " medium rise tunnel ram" appears to be an I.R. (individual runner) manifold.

P.S. Re: Arlen's Barracuda, from what I read, he hated this paint job! Personally, I like it.

M68,
Your Torturing Me!

That Arlon Vanke car (his first one) was sold in late 69'.
It burnt to the ground, in a fire in 1970.
I liked that paint job too!
Cool Fenton's also.
