Is this class something worth looking into?

Depends on what your looking for. If your building a stick v-8 plan on spending just as much as an A car for the rear end, transmission and clutch if you want it to live and have fun. Trust me I ate parts with a 273 before putting good quality parts in it. He automatic will be a lot more cost friendly.

I thought about a 232 in my rambler BUT there's no scattershield available for the early block...wonder if they'd let me use a later block....?

I think the stick would be more fun, but the bellhousing area just may be too expensive in time and money. How many cars are running in U/S or U/SA at most events now?

U is where all the cool cars and oddballs are, neat class of cars, and even neater class of guys! What kind of car are you interested in? Lots of "Dime Rockets" here too...
