Say what?
From NHRA AHFS posting:
"3/7/2018 As the result of runs under the Automatic Horsepower Factoring System (AHFS) 1.20-second under policy at the Phoenix and Belle Rose events, the following changes have been made. The horsepower rating for 73-74 Pontiac Trans Am, entries with the 455 cubic inch engine and a factory rating of 250 currently rated at 321, has been decreased by eleven horsepower, to 310 horsepower; for Super Stock Eliminator. NHRA's 2018 Automatic Horsepower Factoring System outlines that any run of 1.20-seconds or more under the index will receive an immediate index decrease or horsepower increase. These changes are effective March 7, 2018." So you can get a 11 HP DECREASE under AHFS now by running fast?? What? |
Re: Say what?
Wow, Things are REALLY getting crazy.

Re: Say what?
Maybe NHRA has listened. We want performance back in s/ss racing. So they are rewarding them for going fast by taking horse power off the combination.
Or the person did it is figures if you take away HP the car will slow down and all is good. I am sure all people with that combination will rush out and take 11 HP out of the tune up. |

Re: Say what?
It's a typo. The engine has always been rated at 310.

Re: Say what?
You could take 21 hp off that combo and it still wouldn't go 1.20 under lol
