Question on Caltracs
I am about to order my Caltrac split springs springs for my 67 Cuda that will be running in K/SA. On Calvert they give me an option from a 1+ height, neutral -1 and -02 heights.
Which one would be the best choice? |
Re: Question on Caltracs
That body style is similar to my 68 Mustang coupe. I had the lowered springs and had tire clearance issues. Replaced them with the lifted versions - +2. I think - and I run 28/10s in there with mini tubs. Might be able to fit 30/10.

Re: Question on Caltracs
thanks, i have a set of the older SS springs on it now. and a old set of MT 29" slicks. I will see how it looks and fits and make my determination then.

Re: Question on Caltracs
Our A body stockers are at neutral.
John used to make a narrower spring that made tire clearance easier to work with on A Bodies. Duster and Demon really do not need them but they make it much easier on earlier A body cars and some of other A body stuff like 67 to 72 Darts. |

Thanks John, one day owe you a big dinner |
Re: Question on Caltracs
After you get the springs and you want to adjust ride height, it is easier to adjust up than down.

Re: Question on Caltracs
With respect to the commenters (and lots of other racers who run his stuff), I would call Calvert.

Re: Question on Caltracs
Also keep in mind whatever you get, when you first install, they will settle and change. At least mine did. I got stock height and was worried it was too high at first but they settled in nicely.
