Turbo 200

New to the 200 metric world for super stocker. Bought a used unit...how much fluid is required for deep pan? Came with a lokar dip stick but not sure if it's accurate. Thanks.

Ed I've always been told 6 3/4 to 7 quarts but I would probably pull the pan with the dipstick in so you can get an accurate measurement. Paul at Turbo Action always recommend the full mark be 5/16 inch below the bottom of the transmission where the pan bolts on.

What does the trans. have for venting,a long hose to the top of the bell?.When I first fill mine I just go a hair above add then get the trans. temp.to about 160 and check it.On mine it comes up to just under full.Proper venting and fluid level is important or you'll have atf all over.Do you know who built the trans?. gsa612

Yes, it has the vent tube up past bell. I have attached it to the dip tube. It was originally built by mccay sp? but sepanek refreshed it last time.

Re: Turbo 200

Its better to run a vent hose back toward the transmission cross member . Running it up the dipstick tube could allow any fluid leakage or spray to land on the headers which could have a bad effect . That's why most companies have a sealed locking dipstick tube .

Re: Turbo 200

I will have to disagree on this. If you run the vent hose forward and upward into a small vented container then what fluid is in the tube has a ban even to drain back into the trans! Jazz makes a small plastic one pint container with a drain and vent filter that doesn’t weigh much or take up much space on the firewall. Running the vent hose back is inviting not only a mess on the underside of the car but disaster if the trans is overfilled the fluid gets on the tires.
