Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Might as well count Burton at 627 as he has only entered 2 National Events and will get 30 points no matter what happens. Tyler can improve on 2 National Events where he has 72 points, and pick up 33 points at each National for 66 additional points, and improve a LODRS 50 pointer by 55 points, for a possible total of 753. Wyatt has a possible National event improvement of of 65 plus 43 points, and a LODRS pick up of 54 points, for a possible total of 786. Brad cannot improve his current scored Nationals as he won them both, however that gives him 2 shots at 105 points. On the LODRS side he has used all 8 races, so Brad can improve by 105 points, for a possible total of 702 points. Lot of scenarios could and will play out.

The Vegas national will go a long way to shaping the picture, but it should be fun to watch this go all the way to the wire! |
Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Tony, I missed that. Good thing I didn't put "Official Points" on it.

Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Looks like Caheely and Wagner have the best chance to overtake Warner. They both have 2 races to make up some points. Burton only has one race but could overtake all of them with a 3rd round win if the other two dont improve. good close race to the championship

Re: Super Stock Points Chase
I'm torn between Wagner or Burton having the best shot. They both have low-hanging fruit on the National side, with 2 shots at it.
If either Caheely or Wagner can turn on 3 winlights at the divisional, that would also go a long way. |
Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Great list of champions there, early on this season I thought Kevin was a given for another title but now having witnessed Caheely’s work for a few years I think he’ll pull it off. Him and his dad are truly dedicated racers, definitely at the same level as the past champions in the top ten.

Re: Super Stock Points Chase
My money is on Brad Burton! There are only two races left after the Vegas National. I don’t see anyone catching him now, even if he loses 4th round. I just hope I hang on to 2nd! Heck, I didn’t think I would still be number 1 after the St Louis races!

Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Wyatt still has a fair chance at the last two races. Brad is still in though and driving really good.

Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Stock has a great race going on for the top 10 too. John Gray got passes for 10th by Leo Glasbrenner and they are both still in. Jeff Lane came in with only 2 Nationals trying to make the top 10 as well.Fun to watch!

Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Hero performance by Burton! Only a win in Pomona can increase his score now, unless that event can get to 7 rounds by then.
Rizzoli moves into a tie with Worner for #2, by my math. Another win in Pomona would get him past Burton. Both of those racers can only block at the upcoming divisional event. |
Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Super Stock is a great chase with it whittled down to 4 drivers, and 3 can win the title at Pomona alone with a Win.
The chase for top 10 in Stock is WILD as someone indicated previously. The points totals in both stock and super stock are higher than previous years to make the top 10. Currently, there are 9 racers outside the top 10 in Stock with a legitimate chance to make the top 10 at this point. It is going to be a great chase. |

Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Wyatt Wagner has won first round, and will (at least temporarily) move into the points lead when he takes the tree for a bye run in Round 2.
Burton and Rizzoli also advance to tomorrow's Round 2. Buckle up! |
Re: Super Stock Points Chase
This could go down to who makes the final round. Looking at round 2 matchups, and with Wyatt having the single - Oh Boy this is some exciting stuff..
|
Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Since there's no more racing (that matters) today, here's something to ponder:
If you were in Wyatt's position, would you take that bye run to set the table for your day? Do you absolutely baby that thing up to the tree to ensure nothing stupid happens before you take the points lead? I'm really not sure how I'd handle it. |
Re: Super Stock Points Chase
I'd hit hard like normal. Being a new day the free time run is priceless!
|
Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Weather conditions and station have not moved a great deal
at this race. All our runs have been within around .02 in all four cars in SS and Stock. I would probably baby the car on a bye tomorrow if it was us. |
Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Wagner just took the tree on his bye.
Following Round 3, I believe Wagner has clinched it. DRC says that Rizzoli still has a chance but I have Wagner at 700 and Rizzoli can only get to 689. |
Re: Super Stock Points Chase
Congratulations to Wyatt Wagner, your new Super Stock champion!
