AA/S and AA/SA index

Does anyone know what the indexes are for the AA cars? NHRA hasn't updated their site.........or at least I couldn't find it. Thanks.

Re: AA/S and AA/SA index

have not heard as of yet. but i would think 11.15 and 11.10 for auto/stick would be a very good guess

Re: AA/S and AA/SA index

Hopefully the indexes will be lower than that. Otherwise, I think there will be some combo's getting a beat down with the HP stick right off the bat. Take care.

i can't see any lower than a 11.10 for the autos, remember its 7.5, not 7lbs like IHRA

Re: AA/S and AA/SA index

Is it going to be two classes? AA/S & AA/SA ? or just AA/S with stick & autos in one? if it's anything like IHRA's AA class their are to few to have them seprate.

I just got my 2008 rulebook and it only references AA/S. Is this a typo?

Chad,

I don't have a dog in this fight. But I do stay in contact with some that do. From what I can understand about their feelings is that this is going to be a go fast class. They want to be able to run their cars out without having to play the slam on the brakes game to keep from getting hit, so they want the indexes tough enough to be able to do so.

Agreed 100%
I'd like to see the index in the 10.90 to 11.00 range. You will see ETs in the 9.50s if the conditions are right.

An index of 10.90 to 11.00 is exactly what was requested when the suggestion of AA/S was made to NHRA.

but that was origianlly pitched as a 7lb class correct? 10.90 makes perfect sense at 7lbs, 7.5 not so much.

Re: AA/S and AA/SA index

It was requested as either 7.0 OR 7.5, taking what we could get. We knew we might get the 7.5 break, but still wanted a 10.90 or 11.00 index, to give the cars room to RUN. Besides, at the time the 0.20 index drop was being considered. The idea was to let the cars take off excess weight, and go FAST, without the worry of getting hit with HP at every turn. Besides, it's not really that big a deal, unless you want to show your *** and run way under for a #1 qualifying position or something. Consider that with an index of 11.00, you can run a 9.61 without getting INSTANT HP. You can run a 9.86 and not even trigger a review.

IHRA already has it @ 11.05 stick and 11.15 Auto
I'm sure NHRA will make it a little faster,, Like 11.00 and 11.10
