So whats new for 2008?

Whats everyone doing this off season to get ready or step up for the upcoming season.

I just freshened up my motor. I had the nose hung in the trailer so 1, I can protect it better for obvious reasons & 2 to make room for a golf cart. I purchased a K&R wiring kit to upgrade the wiring in the car. Having nose repainted & I'm trying to upgrade in the motor home dept, retiring my 88 Bounder if I can swing one.

Gary,

Does someone make a kit to hang the nose in the trailer or was it 5 trips to the hardware store?

I sold my Stocker and should be picking up a Racetech 4-link dragster in a week or two. S/C and bracket racing locally probably more than anything else.

New Apt, New Truck, New Trailer, New 4 wheeler. Rebuilding the cavalier motor, corvette motor is coming together. The firebird and nova are put away for winter till next year, ready to go. Mostly bracket racing this year, but we might try to hit a Div. We will see where we are at in points locally and what the money situation is.

Gary,

The company is BISA and they are located in Las Vegas, NV. The contact is Mike Flake and the phone # is 800-767-2472 ext. 3. Mike has been great and the insurance policy is definitely worth it.

New motor is in the car as of today.. YEAH!!! new Hoosier Tires, Wired the trailer with lights and outlets and put in the front plug on the trailer to power it up. Did all the hard stuff last year.

Gary another insurance company is Gulfway Motorsports Insurnace out of Florida, it is run by Mel Eaves IHRA Prostock and ProMod Fame.
He gave me an GREAT deal. Covers the car all the time except on the track, it is covered in the pits and return roads. Trailer and all the tools, plus spares parts and scooter and generator. you tell him the value and he will tell you how much for full year.
His number is (727) 863-5451

Wow! That's pretty big news Tom. I'm sure you're not going to sell it, so what's next for the Willys? Street Rod?

New trailer (and this ones got a roof!)
New weather station
Freshed motor with some new little toys (I wanna go faster than Gary!!! haha...jk Gary :P )
New ignition system (no more Holley, MSD all the way)
New throttle stop (hopefully)
Maybe even a couple decals this year but I still can't bring myself to stickering it up :)

We gotta be two of the wierdest examples of females in their 20s. Instead of the mall, we spend our free time decaling racecars and when most girls share clothes we share helmets.

PS: Sorry I sucked at pool on Saturday but I was happy I got 1...the 8 ball. I'm just mad we lost to Stockers :P

If there was a JEGS store at the mall, we'd live there!!!!

What good is this insurance if its not covering the car on track. Just my opinion!!

Oh yeah, I'm gonna need another diaper too. My headers burnt two holes in the old one. Quite ironic...

Nah, Lynn, you gotta live down here, 2 National Event tracks within 2 hours and 2 divisional tracks within 1 1/2 hours!

As much as I complain I'm gonna do decal this year no matter how much I love the car stock appearing. When I was in the lanes for the semis at E-Town, that older dude that was pairing people was like "you're gonna lose a lot of money if you go one more round" and I was like "hmmm, maybe this is God's way of telling me I need decals on my car". Guess God was also the reason I lost that round, God didn't want me to regret not having the decals and losing all that money. Yeah, that's why I was -.001 on the tree!

For 2008 we will have a whole new paint job on the car. Hopefully I can talk to my dad about not putting too many decals on the car this time around. Leanne if Kelli falls through with the decals you can come decal the wagon. Looks like the flames will stay but back to white, burnt orange, green and yellow. I am still working on the design but it will look sharp. The motors are still fresh and ready to go, hell if the 454 can survive my meltdown at Numidia then we should be good for a few more years...haha.

Dad will return in 2008 with both his cars. Getting Gary Stinnett to freshen his dragster motor. He is thinking about painting his vette too.

I'm selling both my cars and my rig ... going to be driving Doug Herbert's second top fueler! Should be fun. If anyone is looking for a dragster or corvette roadster, email me kennyracing@hotmail.com

Wow, Jason that's big time news. Don't hit the brakes at 1100' there is no breakout in T/F....LOL Seriously, you need to be thinking about safety if your going to drive one of those monsters.......They need to slow them down some right now if you ask me......

Re: So whats new for 2008?

No brakes before the finish line, just a little top end throttle dancing would be nice.

Not official yet, I have to lose 60 pounds and come up with $2.5 million first.

You obviously don't know Asta very well--there is no way he is gonna spend money on something that works right when he can make 20 trips to the hardwware store to make something that dosen't work!!

If he brings the car to me to hang the nose, I will have him run to Dunkin Donuts 20 times so he feels like he is doing something.

Jason,

I am willing to assist with the money. I am willing to earmark $6.38 towards the $2,500,000. Let me know how big to make the stickers for the side of the Top Fueler. I never thought I would be partners in a Top Fuel team, but I guess the stars have alligned themselves, and when it's your day, it's your day...

Re: So whats new for 2008?

Frank - Why is it that all of my married friends tell me to stay single?

John, Bill - Every little bit counts. I am actually short about $6.38 since I started this project last night. The 'King Sizing' at Burger King really starts to add up.

Gary - I bought a box of them Slim-Fast chocolate bars the other day. Ate the whole box last night and didn't lose a single pound. Matter of fact, might have gained one or two. Ernie - Is this grounds for a lawsuit? Maybe I should ask for $2.6m and settle for $2.5m?
