20-25 years ago I was putting screws in Hoosier radials with no problems.

When I went from 8" wheels to 10" wheels I didn't want to drill them, so I stopped using screws. Haven't noticed any reason to go back to it.

I raced at a local heads up race this past weekend and saw many cars running this tire and no screws....

My son runs them on his Drag Week 1968 Barracuda. It runs 10.50s @ 3,500lbs. He runs no screws in them with no problems. I think he normally runs them at about 17psi.

I’m on my 3rd season with the 10.5x29.5 on a 3500lb nostalgia super stock chevelle on a 9.75 index it has 60 footed 1.31 with a 1.360 restrictor plate , I do not use screws but do use permatex hi tack on bead , be sure and do that the first set did not move on the wheels but 2nd set did so they was broke down and hi tack applied and no more slipping . I have seen pictures of radials used with screws with destroyed beads but no personal experience.

I would try it without screws, glues, or other tricks. If it works, you've eliminated more "stuff to be done". K.I.S.S.

Just make sure to use only water, not any kind of lube or soap when mounting.

I was told by MT no screws with radials. I run 26 x 8 MT's, no screws, no problems, admittedly limited HP but 3500 lbs.

Been running radials for 25+ years now. Clean the rim bead seat surface well, no lube and install dry.

Faster cars may want to install beadlocks, but I have been 1.12 60' without.

Radial beads are not designed for screws. Friend and customer had a bead split around the circumference totally destroying the tire from rim screws.

Re: M/T PRO BRACKET radials

I dropped them off to a tire guy a few years back and dropped off a set of used tires/rims I purchased that had screws in them. I told him to please mount the used rims on my new set of bracket radials but ditch the screws as they are not used on this type of tire. Next day I picked them up and he had them mounted with the screws ugh. I ran them that way for a year and everything was fine but Buddy from M/T told me to get them out, and just remount the tire with dishsoap but rotate a little bit before remounting them to get the tire holes away from the screw holes. Anyways, I did not run into any issues while the screws were in but I would suggest not using them.
